Growth Leaders Circle: Community Driven Growth
Time & Location
About the Event
Building community creates a unique bond of trust and loyalty between a product, employees, and users. Nurturing and growing that trust has helped create many of the most viral and fastest-growing startups in the world. But that trust can easily dissipate if not properly respected.

Stephanie Hughes is a community vanguard who specializes in early startups. She began her illustrious community-growing career back in 2006 as the first Community Manager for a little company no one had ever heard of called Yelp. In her first year, she single-handedly grew the LA community from 1800 crickets to a thriving 65,000 active reviewers. She then moved up to the Bay and spent the next 3 years living out of a suitcase, replicating the magic across the US and the UK. After leaving Yelp, she attended culinary school and fell madly in love with all things food and people which led to her role as Head of Community for Tastemade; a global food and travel network.
After leaving Tastemade, she dove head first into her current passion project called The Femps aka The Female Empowerment Society. The Femps is a secret, invite-only, underground ladygang of badasses with a focus on professional hustle and actualizing passion projects. She also consults for a number of startups and makes a pretty damn impressive 22-cheese mac n cheese.
Nish Nadaraja is a brand consultant and advisor who has worked with hundreds of start-ups (and start-downs) over the years. He started his career in Community Management when he joined the founding team of Yelp in 2005 as Employee #6. While he now focuses on high-level strategy work, he still holds a soft spot for community and how it can drive interaction, loyalty, and even revenue. Currently, he's the interim head of marketing for a wine company that is just coming to market. He's also an investor in 5 restaurants in San Francisco and just might open his own one day. Most importantly, though, he is a Dad to an almost teenager.
