Mosaic Foods is on a mission to put good food on every table, one plant-based meal at a time. Serving up delicious, plant-based meals, cooked by hand in their very own kitchen with fresh ingredients, and delivering them straight to their customer's doors.

 

Founded in 2019, Mosaic Foods has raised 10MM to date. They are also growing rapidly, launching 3 new product lines this year alone and planning on tripling the size of their business and marketing budget in 2022 as they expand into new markets. The Brooklyn-based startup is looking for a world-class marketing leader interested in developing and scaling an incredible brand.

Responsibilities 

Scale Mosaic's core Direct-to-Consumer channel 

  • Drive top-line growth by acquiring and retaining customers

  • Manage a multimillion dollar marketing budget and deliver against revenue targets

  • Diversify paid marketing mix beyond our current channels (Facebook, Google, email,  affiliate) to enable 3-5x YoY scaling of our paid media spend 

  • Create new programs, strategies, and engaging content to scale organic acquisition in line with paid ads 

  • Land earned media coverage and manage internal and external communications 

Own and manage our brand’s voice and visual identity 

  • Build and manage a combination of in-house and external talent to create a world-class  brand marketing engine

  • Strengthen our visual identity through a variety of rebrand exercises (packaging, own store retail execution, etc.) 

  • Direct the teams responsible for photo shoots as well as the creation of ads and assets

  • Oversee design of web content, curate our social presence, and be a steward of the  brand voice 

Improve our customers’ journey and resultant lifetime value 

  • Prioritize UX and funnel tuning initiatives and oversee product management function

  • Manage email communications and CRM initiatives 

  • Optimize the customer experience from first touch to win-backs for overall LTV

  • Use consumer insights to identify digital, product, and service improvements opportunities 

Steer the business and help Mosaic build an incredible team as a member of the executive team

  • Strategic input and decision making

  • Recruit and hire many of Mosaic's first 20 corporate team members

  • Be a culture carrier that helps shape the way it feels to be a part of Mosaic 

Community engagement and local activation 

  • Help bring our first retail location to life with local engagement and events 

  • Establish new and exciting partnerships 

  • Innovate on new and exciting ways to activate our brand in our local area

Qualifications.

  • Experience scaling a direct-to-consumer and a passion for food 

  • A bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ marketing and managerial experience 

  • Strong sense of ownership and previous experience managing a P&L 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can autonomously solve complex, open ended problems 

  • Creative and scrappy – a big thinker who can also make things happen 

  • Inspirational and magnetic – a charismatic leader who will attract other amazing talents to our  business

From the Founders

We started Mosaic with a bold yet simple vision: to put good food on every table. 

 

In 2018, tired of unhealthy fast-food and expensive salads, we (co-founders Matt & Sam) were searching  for a way to make wholesome, plant-based eating easy. Our quest led us to the frozen aisle of our local  grocery store, where we saw disappointing options but incredible promise. We started asking  ourselves: could we combine the convenience, affordability, and sustainability of the frozen aisle with  the amazing taste and healthiness of plant-forward home cooking?

 

We launched our first product line in May 2019, and are currently selling direct-to-consumer to  customers across the Eastern US. This is just the beginning: there is so much left for us to build. The next  few years will be focused on bringing exciting new products to market, making Mosaic available across  the country (and through novel channels), and developing a more vertically integrated supply chain. Our  vision for the category is as ambitious as it is exciting, and that’s why we’re assembling a world-class  team.
